A little over a year ago a fire engulfed a small stretch of East College Avenue in Decatur, destroying the much-loved Trackside Tavern (and taking with it one of my favorite sandwich shops, 5th Earl, which sadly will not return).
This week, Trackside’s owner has finally announced they are beginning the rebuilding process. The old building will come down and a new one will rise from the ashes. The owner promises to keep many of the same charms that made Trackside a local favorite. You can follow the progress on Trackside’s new Facebook page.
