J.M. Wilkerson Construction Co., Inc. served as the general contractor for the extensive restoration of the Hardman Farm in Helen, GA.
Phase I of this project consisted of the stabilization of 23 buildings, including a dairy barn that was leaning to one side by 18 inches and had settled 2 feet into the ground. The building was braced with metal beams and jacked up to 2 feet in some areas, before hydraulic jacks were used to push the building back to its original position. Each of the buildings was restored as close as possible to their original form.
